On behalf of our famous business partner, we are recruiting 8 multi drop van drivers working from their depot at Bamber Bridge near Preston, Lancashire. Approximately 50 drops per day on a set route to business customers, this work is NOT parcel delivery or Amazon style delivery. These positions are an immediate start and a minimum of 48 hours per week to include alternate Saturday mornings. Start time is usually 6am. Earnings are £610 per week in the first 12 weeks rising to £710 per week after 12 weeks service. Pay is by PAYE, not self employed and not through an umbrella company. If you are taken on as an employee after 12 weeks service, the salary is £35600 per year.
Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
- To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
- Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
- To always maintain a smart appearance.
- To help maintain good customer service.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Essential Skills Knowledge and Experience required:
- A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven for 1 year or more.
- Whilst we do not ask for a clean license, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their license, and this may affect our decision to shortlist.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent Customer care.
- Intermediate Numeracy and Literacy.
Desirable:
- Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable.
- Route planning experience.
