Transport Planner Required – Permanent Employed Position

Location: Preston, Lancashire

Salary: Circa £32,000 (DOE)

Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking to join a dynamic and growing logistics team?

We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong background in general haulage, pallet network, and groupage operations to take on a key role in our Preston-based operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and coordinating transport operations efficiently and cost-effectively
• Managing daily driver schedules and ensuring compliance with transport regulations
• Liaising with customers and internal teams to ensure high service levels
• Monitoring workloads and adapting plans as needed to meet operational demands
• Using IT systems to track, analyse, and report on transport performance

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in any part of the transport industry
• Proven experience as a Transport Planner in a general haulage and pallet network environment
• In-depth knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) and transport legislation
• Excellent IT and communication skills
• Confident in managing and supporting drivers in day-to-day operations
