Driver Hire Preston are recruiting 2 HGV Class 2 Drivers on behalf of our well-established client, a leading food service wholesaler based in Fleetwood, near Blackpool, supplying catering businesses throughout the North and North West of England.
This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a full-time, permanent Class 2 driving position with a respected business offering regular weekday hours and an immediate start.
NEWLY QUALIFIED CLASS 2 DRIVERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY - NO PREVIOUS HGV DRIVING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
What You'll Be Doing
- Driving a Class 2 (Category C) HGV delivering chilled and frozen food products to catering businesses.
- Completing deliveries to customers throughout the North and North West.
- Delivering a high standard of customer service.
- Unloading goods safely and efficiently at delivery locations.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks.
- Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
- Following all road transport regulations and health and safety procedures.
Your vehicle will be loaded for you before departure. However, you will be responsible for unloading goods at delivery points, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- Start Time: 05:00am
- Finish Time: 2:00pm
- Pay Rate: £15.90 per hour PAYE
- Full-Time, Permanent Employment
- Immediate Starts Available
- Depot Location: Fleetwood, Lancashire
What We're Looking For
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Hold a full UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
- Hold a valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Be aged 25 or over due to vehicle insurance requirements.
- Be physically fit and capable of unloading and handling goods.
- Have excellent timekeeping and reliability.
- Demonstrate a positive, hardworking attitude.
- Have good communication and customer service skills.
- Be organised and able to manage your time effectively.
- Take pride in your work and maintain a professional attitude.
