We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Portsmouth-based client for a Class 1 Driver to join their specialist logistics operation, supporting continued growth within the business.
Are you a skilled Class 1 Driver with an HGV/LGV Category C+E licence looking for a new opportunity? Then look no further!
Requirements:
- Valid LGV Class 1 (C+E) licence with a clean driving record
- Driver CPC and valid tachograph card
- Minimum of 3 years' Class 1 driving experience
- Proven experience in commercial delivery driving, ideally with flatbed, step frame, or similar vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with load securing on flatbed or similar vehicles (desirable)
- Willingness to work nights out (average of 4 per week)
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends (1 in 4)
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage time and routes effectively
- Professional attitude and strong commitment to safety
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out pre-journey vehicle safety checks (brakes, tyres, lights, load security, etc.)
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring all cargo is safely secured
- Deliver goods to designated locations on time, maintaining communication with dispatch teams
- Complete all relevant documentation, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Comply with driving hours, tachograph regulations, and all legal requirements
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct when interacting with customers and colleagues
- Report any vehicle defects, issues, or incidents promptly
