HGV Drivers Wanted

Driver Hire and Peterborough are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (Cat C) drivers for regular work across Cambridgeshire.

We offer consistent assignments, weekly pay, and guaranteed minimum hours. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced drivers and newly qualified drivers who are looking for reliable work with a supportive, locally based recruitment team.

Pay and Hours

• £15.91 to £23.15 per hour PAYE Advanced
• Paid weekly
• Minimum of 8 paid hours per shift
• Flexible shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends
• Ongoing work with reputable local companies across the Peterborough area.

The Role

Duties will vary depending on your licence and the client but typically include:

• Driving Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C vehicles
• Local and regional deliveries throughout Cambridgeshire
• General haulage, palletised freight, trade deliveries, and store deliveries
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Completing delivery paperwork, PODs, and digital tachograph records
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
• Adhering to drivers\’ hours regulations and site procedures

Most routes involve early starts and benefit from predictable finish times.

Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

• A valid Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C licence
• Driver CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 penalty points
• Ability to manage early starts and some manual handling
• Your own transport to access client depots
