Class 1 HGV Drivers – Temp to Perm Opportunity!
We’re recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client who is expanding their fleet and looking for skilled Class 1 HGV Drivers to join their team. This is a 12‑week temp‑to‑perm role, offering stability, great benefits and a Monday‑Friday schedule with weekends and bank holidays off.
What’s in it for you:
- £16.00 per hour (£17.93 per hour including holiday pay) – payable weekly
- Temp‑to‑perm pathway after 13 weeks
- £17.00 per hour once completing 13 weeks temp‑to‑perm
- Night out allowance – £44.00
- Monthly performance bonus (accidents and infringements measurement)
- Profit sharing scheme
- Company pension
- Additional leave
The role:
You’ll be driving 7.5 T vehicles with trailers up to 7 m, delivering products across the UK. The client is currently upgrading their fleet to include comfortable sleeping cabs; some vehicles may still have sleeping pods during the transition, but rest assured your comfort is a priority.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence (max 6 points, no DD/DR endorsements)
- Driver CPC card and digital tachograph
- 1+ years Class 1 driving experience (2 years preferred)
- Wide load experience would be a bonus
- Good UK geographical knowledge
- Understanding of driver hours and working time directive / breaks
- Friendly, professional communication skills
Tramping is part of the role
but you’ll be well supported throughout.
