Driver Hire Edinburgh West are looking for experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join our pool of drivers for a range of assignments across West Lothian.
Want to earn some extra money without committing to full-time hours? Whether you’re looking for occasional shifts or more regular part‑time work, we have a variety of driving opportunities available depending on client demand and your availability.
Full-time hours may occasionally be available but cannot be guaranteed.
What Kind of Work Can You Expect?
Our assignments cover a range of industries and may include:
- Single-drop and multi-drop deliveries.
- General haulage and pallet network work.
- A‑to‑B vehicle movements.
- Deliveries involving steel, office furniture, food and drink, and construction materials.
- Loading and unloading where required.
- Completing vehicle checks and delivery paperwork.
- Following drivers’ hours regulations, transport procedures and health and safety requirements.
With a variety of clients and assignments, there’s the opportunity to gain experience across different types of driving work.
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Minimum 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience.
- No more than 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
- No IN, DD, DR or CD endorsements.
- Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport legislation.
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
- Flexible attitude towards different assignments.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- PAYE Basic: £14.50 per hour, plus accrued holiday pay.
- PAYE Advanced: £16.25 per hour.
- Flexible ad hoc and part‑time assignments.
- A variety of driving work throughout West Lothian.
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.
- Experience working with different clients and industries.
