Driver Hire Oxford is recruiting an experienced Class 1 (HGV) Driver on behalf of our client. Working with a distribution company where no day is the same! This is a great opportunity for a reliable, safety-conscious driver to join a busy distribution operation, delivering a consistently high standard of service to customers across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV to deliver goods to customer sites on time and in full
- Carry out daily vehicle walkaround checks and report any defects promptly
- Complete all delivery paperwork accurately, including PODs and vehicle records
- Load and unload goods safely, using manual handling equipment where required
- Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and the transport office
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition throughout each shift
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence
- Current Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points (no DR/DD/IN convictions)
- Minimum 12 months' recent Class 1 driving experience
- Good working knowledge of drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and professional approach to work
- Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including early starts and weekends
