We are currently recruiting a Class 2 Winter Maintenance Gritter Driver for our client, based at DRAYTON and DEDDINGTON Oxfordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn guaranteed standby pay throughout the winter season, plus additional call-out rates when required.

- Guaranteed Standby Payment: £241.37 per week (Friday AM to Friday AM)
- Plus, Call-out Pay: 5 hours at £21.25 per hour PAYE Adv, when called in to work
- Paid Training: One day theory + one day practical to obtain a Winter Ticket
- Contract: Zero-hours contract
- Contract Period: 5 months
- Working Hours: Weather-dependent, maximum 5 hours gritting per shift with a 1-hour break. Possible 2 shifts in a 24-hour period (with a 10-hour rest between).
- Onboarding: Digital handbook via app; digi card to be downloaded weekly on site for compliance
- PPE Provided: Trousers, jackets, high-vis, hard hat, gloves (boots available if required)
- Operation: Runs 24/7 during winter months
- Daily Briefing: 11:00 am meeting to assess weather actions; call-outs may occur at short notice (early mornings or late evenings)

Important Notes:

- Once committed, you cannot undertake other driving duties while on standby between November and March.
- All work is carried out on tachographs.
- Training dates will be confirmed in advance (starting September). Trainers get booked quickly during the winter period, so early confirmation is essential.
- Its important to consider your proximity to the site, as you will need to be on site within 1 hour of being called in, while driving with due care and diligence in severe weather conditions
