Driver Hire Oxford is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (Cat C+E) drivers for ad hoc and flexible assignments across Oxfordshire and the surrounding area. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers who enjoy variety in their work and the freedom to choose shifts that suit their lifestyle. As a registered Driver Hire Oxford driver, you will be placed with a range of our trusted clients — from logistics and distribution companies to construction, retail and manufacturing businesses. No two days are the same, and we work hard to match you with roles that suit your experience and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operating articulated, curtainsider, flatbed or other Cat C+E vehicles
- Carrying out pre-use vehicle safety checks (walkaround checks) before each shift
- Completing tachograph records accurately and in line with drivers' hours regulations
- Multi-drop deliveries
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely, using appropriate equipment where required
- Communicating professionally with clients, customers and colleagues
- Adhering to all road traffic laws, health & safety regulations and company policies
- Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents or near misses promptly
- Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times on site
