Class 2 Driver - Textile & Recycling Collections

Driver Hire Nottingham are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Driver to join one of our growing textile and recycling clients.

This is more than just a driving role - it's an opportunity to support a business focused on reducing landfill waste and giving valuable resources a second life through recycling and redistribution.

The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will work alongside a dedicated Drivers Mate travelling across the UK, collecting clothing and textile donations from donation banks and returning collections to base for sorting and redistribution.

  • Driving a modern, well‑maintained HGV Class 2 vehicle
  • Working as part of a two‑person team (Driver & Mate)
  • Emptying textile donation banks across various locations
  • Loading and unloading bags and bundles of textiles
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Maintaining accurate paperwork and records
  • Delivering excellent customer service at collection sites
  • Ensuring all driving and health & safety procedures are followed

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification card
  • Digital Tachograph card
  • Good level of physical fitness due to manual handling involved
  • A professional and safety‑conscious attitude
  • The right to work in the UK

Hours & Pay

  • Monday to Friday
  • 7:00am starts
  • Assignment rates starting from £17.75 per hour
  • Daily overtime paid
  • Ongoing agency work with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate
