The predicted salary is between 31500 - 31500 £ per year.

Driving and operation of 26t tanker in accordance with DVSA and HSE regulations. Removal of waste from sites to customers specifications and delivery of non-potable water. Disposal of waste under EWC regulations and log information for waste transfer documents.

£31,500 Per Annum based on a 42.5 hour week (overtime is paid at time and a half) Monday to Friday (no weekends). Start times vary between 06:30 and 08:30. Annual performance‑based bonus (not guaranteed). Holiday entitlement: 22 days, increasing to 25 days after 3 years of service. Option to buy up to 5 additional days per year through the company salary‑sacrifice scheme. Annual salary review.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a vacuum tanker driver is ideal
  • At least 1 year of HGV driving experience
  • Clean driving licence (as much as possible)

Responsibilities

  • To plan, organise, monitor own workload working with both Tanker Services and GM on a daily basis in order to achieve the daily work plan and ensure that all service and quality standards are achieved on a consistent basis.
  • Able to organise the effective running of the daily service schedules.
  • Emptying customers effluent tanks, portable toilets, welfare units, cleaning and refilling with chemicals, and ensuring toilet rolls are replenished.
  • Ensure quality of products being delivered to our customers meets agreed standards and advise any damages/refurbishment requirements to GM.
  • Understand and adhere to all appropriate legislation, codes of practice and any internal control requirements.
  • Take full responsibility for all Health & Safety issues within the yard, on site and all other outside work areas, reporting any deviations to your GM.
  • Removal from sites varying waste types ranging from drilling waste, soil engineering, interceptors and disposal in accordance with legislation and procedure.
  • Agree on the most efficient means of product handling and daily service routes in conjunction with Tanker Services.
  • Delivery and collection of vehicles to and from Volvo for all routine service requirements and ensure maintenance and service schedule is strictly adhered to.
  • Maintain Tanker, hoses, pumps and ensure all tools are on vehicle. Report any defects and carry out minor repairs to kit with tools provided.
  • Empty pump catchment tanks daily and ensure all hydraulic fluids are at correct levels, cleaning of pump filters on tanker and depot tipping points daily.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance/ensuring roadworthiness and safety of vehicle (carry out daily vehicle checks in accordance with Group procedures).
  • Fill water tank in accordance with standpipe regulations and relay all quantities to tanker services.
  • Operate Big Change tablet to log all verification photos, job details and ensure customer signs off all work before departure of site.
  • Inform Tanker services of any deviation from assigned job, larger tanks to empty than those specified or greater volumes of water to be delivered than requested.
  • Where applicable ensure digital Tacho’s are used and downloaded in line with current legislation.
  • Ensure digital Tacho cards are carried at all times when required.
  • Working at event sites / locations (generally Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays), availability for overtime in accordance with the needs of the business and nights out in Tankers and hotels where required.
  • Abide by customer Health & Safety rules when on site.
  • Keep workshop and vehicle organised, clean and tidy and assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
  • Upsell Tanker Services to customers on site and relay potential leads for new sites and business to TSRs and SRDs.
  • Complete all associated training assignments and carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by Tanker Services or Depot Manager.
