Driver Hire Barnstaple is recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced 32T Low Loader Driver to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver who enjoys a hands‑on role and takes pride in transporting valuable equipment safely and securely.
The Role
You will be responsible for transporting a variety of heavy plant machinery to and from construction and building sites, including:
- Buckets
- Dumpers
- Tippers
- Other heavy plant equipment
As part of the role, you will also be responsible for loading and securing machinery safely using chains and restraints, ensuring every load is transported in line with industry safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid HGV licence suitable for operating a 32T Low Loader.
- Previous experience transporting heavy plant machinery is preferred.
- Applications are also welcomed from drivers with experience transporting farm machinery, cars, or similar specialist loads.
- A hands‑on approach with a strong focus on safety.
- Ideally a clean driving licence, although up to 3 penalty points will be considered.
- A reliable and professional attitude.
Training & Development
Full training will be provided on load securing techniques. Following successful completion of your probationary period, you will also be enrolled onto the Load and Secure Register, helping you develop your specialist skills and qualifications.
Salary and Benefits
- £15.00 per hour
- Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Based on a 40-hour working week
- Overtime available at time and a half (x1.5) once you become a permanent employee
- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
