Driver Hire (Barnstaple) is looking for reliable HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers for ongoing work in Okehampton. This is a hands-on role that mixes driving with physical waste and recycling collection. The work is steady, the team is friendly, and long-term opportunities are available.

Pay and hours

  • £17.37 to £21.72 per hour PAYE Advanced (Other PAYE methods available)
  • Weekly pay
  • Monday to Friday
  • Optional Saturday work during Bank Holiday weeks
  • Minimum 8 paid hours per shift

What the job involves

  • Driving a Class 2 Cat C refuse vehicle on set routes
  • Supporting the crew with loading and emptying bins
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
  • Keeping paperwork accurate, including route sheets and PODs
  • Following site procedures, health and safety rules and driver hours regulations
  • Working as part of a close-knit team on local routes in South Devon

This role involves physical work and regular lifting.

  • Able to get to the Okehampton depot for early starts
