HGV Class 1 Driver opportunities are available for experienced and newly qualified drivers looking for flexible work across South Devon and the surrounding areas. Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting HGV Class 1 C+E Drivers for ongoing ad hoc day work based in Newton Abbot. This role offers flexibility, regular shifts, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with the right employer.
Location: Easily commutable from Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, Paignton, Totnes, South Brent, Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Other PAYE models are available. Weekly pay. Minimum 8 hours guaranteed per shift.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive a Class 1 C+E vehicle safely and professionally.
- Deliver and collect caged goods across the South West and South Wales.
- Complete delivery paperwork and transport documentation accurately.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Follow all transport legislation, health and safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle.
- Provide excellent customer service when representing our clients.
- Workday shifts with typical start times from 05:00.
- Available shifts throughout the week, Monday to Sunday.
- No more than 6 penalty points.
- Reliable, professional and punctual approach.
- Good geographical knowledge of the South West and South Wales.
- Flexible approach to available shifts.
- Newly qualified Class 1 drivers are welcome to apply.
