A well-established builders merchant based in Crewe is looking to recruit a reliable FLT Driver / Yard Operative to join their busy yard team. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, dealing with customers, and being part of a hardworking team.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
- Every other Saturday: 07:00 – 12:00
The Role
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely
- Assisting customers on the yard with orders and enquiries
- Picking and preparing materials for collection and delivery
- General yard duties including keeping the yard clean and organised
- Stock taking and helping to manage stock levels
- Working closely with the yard and sales teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Valid, in-date Counterbalance FLT licence
- Previous experience in a builders merchant, yard or similar environment preferred
- Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good customer service skills and a helpful attitude
- Reliable and willing to get stuck in with all aspects of yard work
