Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton is currently recruiting experienced Class 2 HGV Drivers for ongoing work across Somerset. We are looking for reliable and professional drivers to support a variety of local projects and contracts. Work can include local and regional deliveries, collections, palletised goods, bulk deliveries, and customer-facing driving assignments for well-established businesses across the area. This is a great opportunity for drivers who want regular work, weekly pay, and the chance to gain experience across different routes, delivery environments, and customer sites. There may also be temp-to-perm opportunities available for successful candidates.

The Role

  • Carrying out local and regional deliveries and collections
  • Driving Class 2 vehicles safely, legally, and professionally
  • Supporting a variety of client projects and transport contracts
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
  • Delivering palletised or bulk goods, with forklift loading and unloading at either end where required
  • Completing paperwork, delivery notes, and PODs accurately
  • Representing Driver Hire and our clients in a professional manner
  • Following road transport legislation, driver hours, working time, and health and safety regulations

Start times are typically from 7:00am, depending on the client, route, and assignment.

Requirements

  • A valid Category C / Class 2 HGV licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Minimum 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience due to insurance requirements
  • Be aged 25 or over due to insurance requirements
  • Good knowledge of driver hours and working time regulations
  • A professional, reliable, and flexible approach
  • Good communication and customer service skills
