We are recruiting reliable HGV Class 2 refuse drivers to work with a well-established waste and recycling service based in Kingsbridge, Devon. This is a physically active driving role combining vehicle operation with hands-on collections. It offers regular shifts, competitive pay, and the opportunity to move into a permanent contract for the right candidates.

Location: Kingsbridge, Devon, within easy reach of South Brent, Totnes, Paignton, Plymouth, and surrounding South Devon towns.

Pay: £17.65 per hour PAYE. Other PAYE models are available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating a Category C (Class 2) refuse and recycling vehicle on designated routes.
  • Assisting with the collection, loading, and unloading of waste and recycling bins.
  • Liaising with depot staff for daily route instructions and updates.
  • Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Following all health and safety guidelines on and off the road.
Qualifications:
  • A valid Cat C (Class 2) driving licence.
  • In-date CPC and digital tachograph cards.
  • No more than 6 points on your licence and no DR, DD, or IN endorsements.
  • Physically capable of handling bins and containers.
  • Own transport to travel to the depot.
  • A mobile phone for receiving route and schedule information.
  • Prior experience in waste collection or multi-drop driving.
  • A strong working knowledge of South Devon routes and areas.
