We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established line marking and surface treatment company for an experienced and hardworking Class 2 HGV Driver / Operative to join their growing operational team. This is a varied, physically demanding role combining driving duties with hands-on site work alongside the wider crew. This is not a “bum in seat” driving role — successful candidates must be prepared to work as part of the operational team in all aspects of the job. This is a temporary to permanent role for the right candidate.
Key Requirements:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- Valid CSCS card
- CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Willingness to drive other vehicle classes within licence entitlement
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexible attitude towards varying shift patterns and start times
- Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and work away from home when required
- Ability to pass random drug and alcohol testing in line with industry regulations
The Role Includes:
- Driving company vehicles to and from sites
- Assisting crews with line marking and surface treatment operations
- Manual and physical work on live sites
- Working across day and night shifts
- Occasional working away from home (allowances paid)
Basic Pay: £15.75 per hour
Night Shift Rate: Time and a quarter
Weekend Rate: Time and a half
Working Away Uplift: Additional 10% on all hours worked away from home
Minimum 30-hour weekly pay guarantee to provide stability during weather-related stand downs.
