Location: East Manchester.

Duration: Full-time / Permanent.

Pay: £14.00 per hour.

Contract: Variable hours, average 50‑55 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • 1 to 3 nights out per week.
  • Experience with tail lift unloading.
  • Availability to work one weekend in four if needed (either Saturday or Sunday, paid at 1.5x).
  • 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Night out allowance: £25.00.
  • Truck parking paid for.
  • Attendance bonus: £60.00 per month (paid every six months; applicable after a three-month probation period).
  • Enrolment in company healthcare package (available after a three-month probation period).

Duties:

  • Carrying out deliveries and collections to and from various business premises.
  • Completing the correct documentation when collecting and delivering goods.
  • Verifying the contents of your delivery and taking precise instructions into account.
  • Ensuring that the goods carried on board are secure inside the vehicle.
  • Being comfortable with driving in heavy traffic or potentially unsociable hours.
  • Clearly communicating with line managers and advising of delays, accidents and other traffic situations.
  • Driving in a safe manner, while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations at all times.
  • Completing regular in-depth vehicle inspections.
  • Reporting any mechanical problems or defects found in your vehicle.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is clean and well-kept.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • A valid UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.
  • One year previous driving experience is preferred.
  • Valid CPC & Medical - qualified to drive Class 2 vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in-house and customer facing.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
