About the Company
Our client is a well-established business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join their transport team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods while ensuring full compliance with UK driving legislation, company procedures, and customer requirements. The role may involve occasional overnight stays and operation of the company's 30-seat passenger bus.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with Driver Hours Regulations and transport legislation.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Carry out collections and deliveries across the UK.
- Operate a range of trailers, including refrigerated, curtain-sided, low loader, and container units.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report defects.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading when required.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Valid PSV Licence
- Current Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Good understanding of transport and health & safety regulations
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Working Hours
Average 55 hours per week on a rolling shift pattern:
- Week 1: 5 days on, 1 day off
- Week 2: 5 days on, 2 days off
