Driver Hire Leeds West is looking to recruit a Class C HGV Driver for an ongoing temp to perm role based at our client's site in Leeds, LS27. You'll be working for a well established UK manufacturer at the forefront of the tube processing industry. The role involves delivering various lengths of steel - from processed parts to full stock bars - so safe load management and attention to detail are essential. This is a great opportunity for a driver who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and is looking for a long term role with the potential to become permanent.

What the job involves:

  • Delivering various lengths of steel, including processed components and stock bars
  • Managing your own breaks and drivers' hours to ensure all work is completed safely and legally
  • Communicating clearly with colleagues, customers, and the transport team
  • Keeping the vehicle clean, tidy, and roadworthy, and reporting any defects to the Transport Manager

What you'll need:

  • A valid UK Class 2 (C) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous commercial driving experience (steel or heavy haulage experience is an advantage)
  • A clean licence with no DD, DR or IN endorsements

Pay & Benefits:

  • PAYE Advanced (holiday pay included)
  • £16.14 per hour - Basic
  • £19.28 per hour - Overtime
  • Enhanced rates for night/weekend work
  • Permanent Salary £28,155 per year
  • Plus guaranteed overtime at 1.5x the hourly rate
