We are looking for an HGV Maintenance Technician to start ASAP for our client in Bury St Edmunds, with full support from our experienced Driver Hire team in Ipswich.

Shift Pattern (rotation):
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday
- Back Shift: Monday to Friday
- Saturday Mornings overtime
- On-Call rota: 1 in 4 weeks (additional payment for on-call)
As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in keeping a specialist fleet safe, compliant, and ready for the road. Working in a busy workshop environment, you will carry out a mix of planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs across HGVs, tankers, and trailers. Your responsibilities will include routine safety inspections (PMIs), servicing, and MOT preparation, alongside diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults. You will work on both standard vehicle systems and tanker-specific equipment, ensuring all work meets strict safety and ADR compliance standards. You will collaborate closely with drivers and fellow technicians to resolve defects efficiently, respond to urgent repair needs, and maintain high workshop standards. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork, you will help ensure the fleet remains reliable all year round.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Strong background in the industry, whether time-served, with relevant qualifications, or with equivalent practical experience
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, trailers, plant, and workshop equipment
- Strong diagnostic skills with a safety-first mindset
- Team player with good communication and organisation skills
- Desirable: HGV Cat C licence + ADR (we will help you obtain these)
Commute: This position is commutable from Stowmarket, Ipswich, Thetford, Cambridge, Newmarket and other areas nearby to Bury St Edmunds.
