Pay rate: £15.77-£24.40

We are looking for Class 1 HGV Drivers to start immediately for our growing client base across the IP postcode area.

Benefits for the successful Class 1 HGV Driver include:

  • Basic pay £15.77, paid monthly for 42.5 hours per week
  • Increasing to £16.27 per hour once fully trained and independently spreading on farms
  • Overtime at 1.5x hourly rate after 42.5 hours per week
  • £25.00 night out subsistence allowance (tax-free) when overnight stay is required
  • 1-hour unpaid break per day
  • Holiday entitlement: 4 weeks + bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Uniform provided
  • Automatically enrolled in Company Pension scheme (3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution)
  • Free tea & coffee at the workplace
  • Referral bonus for introducing a friend

Role responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Class 1 HGV vehicles, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
  • Plan efficient delivery routes considering traffic updates, road closures, and schedules
  • Oversee and assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring safety and proper fastening
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, vehicle logs, and incident reports
  • Collect raw materials from sawmills in box trailers
  • Deliver animal bedding to farms using bulk trailers and curtain side trailers
  • Spread shavings, sawdust, or straw in poultry sheds using trained equipment
  • Unload own vehicle with Moffett Fork Truck or Bobcat Skid steer (training provided)
  • Load own vehicles if requested (training provided)
  • Follow health & safety site rules at all locations

Minimum requirements:

  • Class 1 HGV entitlement
  • Valid CPC & Digi Tacho
  • At least 1 year of driving experience
  • No more than 6 penalty points
