We are looking for a Yard Fitter to start ASAP for our growing client base across the IP postcode, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team in Ipswich.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain hot water heater systems in toilets and conduct PAT testing.
  • Maintain a range of eco mobile welfare units to a high standard.
  • Provide a high-standard fitting resource within the area, including but not restricted to:
    • Reducing backlogs of non-RFH equipment at depots where this is prevalent, either at the depot or when transported to the home depot.
    • Undertaking major repairs/refurbs.
    • Assisting the depot in ensuring six- and twelve-weekly trailer checks are kept up to date.
    • Ensuring six-monthly servicing is carried out on eco welfare units, service generators and heating systems on site or at the home depot.
  • Diagnose faults and repair/maintain a variety of toilets and eco welfare units in the fleet, including generators, heating systems, electrical testing and more, both on and off site.
  • Check and tag all equipment and update service records.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products and the full range of accessories.
  • Assist in ensuring eco welfare units availability.
  • Complete all test certificates and associated paperwork.
  • Ensure best safe working practices are adhered to at all times and that appropriate PPE is used.
  • Report all incidents/accidents.
  • Abide by customer Health & Safety rules when on site.
  • Keep workshop and vehicle (where provided) organised, clean and tidy and assist with general workshop duties as required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the GM.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Experience servicing or repairing plant, tools, welfare units or similar equipment.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • No more than 6 effective penalty points.
  • No DG, DD or IN endorsements.
