Hire Desk Manager
Pay rate: £32,000 - £35,000 + bonuses
Contract: Type: Tempoary to Permanent

We are looking for Hire Desk Manager to start ASAP for our client based in Bury St Edmunds, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team.
The successful Hire Desk Manager will receive:
- £32,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
- Depot performance bonuses up to £5,000 per year
- Overtime paid at x1.5
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays
- +1 holiday day per year of service.
- Guaranteed 45hrs per week per day.

What to expect as a Hire Desk Manager:
Working Monday to Friday on a 45hr week you will have the following duties:
- Lead and manage the day to day operation of the Hire Desk and Transport function.
- Recruit and develop team members & ensure adequate staffing cover.
- Drive add on sales by promoting selling of consumables and accessories.
- Oversee stock control of consumables and resale items, ensuring availability and re ordering where required.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of on hires, off hires, exchanges, and transport activity using company systems.
- Monitor transport performance to ensure deliveries and collections meet agreed timescales.
- Resolve customer queries & hire issues efficiently.
- Work closely with the Workshop Manager to manage equipment availability and hire readiness
- Review key reports (hire, credit notes, live hire, customer).
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work.
As a Hire Desk Manager you must:
- Experience managing a hire desk
- Strong people management
- Focus on revenue growth and add on sales
- Organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication skills with staff & customers
- Good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Have no more than 6 effective penalty points.
- No DG, DD or IN endorsements.
This position is commutable from Stowmarket, Newmarket. Ipswich, Needham Market and other areas nearby to Bury St Edmunds.
