Driver Hire Huddersfield are currently looking for Category C+E – Class 1 LGV Drivers to join us working alongside prestigious clients based throughout the Kirklees areas of Huddersfield, Brighouse, Holmfirth and Meltham. These roles are for temporary and ad‑hoc bookings assisting clients covering holiday and sickness and increase in business demands. Most clients are looking for a minimum 1 year’s worth of experience on this entitlement, ideally 2 years with a clean licence.
Role
- Trunking work, curtainsiders, flatbeds and tail lift experience.
- Perform checks on the vehicle and the load before setting off.
- Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo get to their destination safely.
- Liaise with customers at the point of delivery.
- Some nights out may be required, although if this is an issue day work can be offered.
Requirements
- Be in possession of a Cat C+E (Class 1) UK driving licence.
- Have a current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Be able to demonstrate a Right to Work in the UK.
- Have no more than 6 points on your driving licence for minor traffic offences.
Benefits
- Locally sourced/based work.
- 8 hours minimum daily guaranteed.
- £15.00 Basic.
- £20.00 Overtime.
- £16.80 Nights.
- Holiday Pay Accrued.
- Wages done at source through PAYE.
- Auto enrolment into a Pension through NOW Pensions.
These roles may also include non-driving duties such as loading and unloading the vehicle; therefore candidates should be comfortable with doing some lifting and a good demonstration of safe loading. Experience is highly regarded but not wholly essential. This position would be perfect for someone who has a flexible approach to work and enjoys variety. Immediate starts are available following successful reference checks.
