Driver Hire is recruiting for an experienced Van Driver who also holds a FLT certificate (even if it is now out of date). The job is based in Camberley. It is a Full Time, permanent job, after a short probationary period. Our client is a major plumbing supplies wholesaler. They mostly deliver to smaller plumbing retailers.
Your job is rather varied and interesting. Three quarters of the time you are making deliveries in a LWB van, with a tail lift. For the rest of the time you would cover warehouse and loading responsibilities when that employee is on holiday or on other duties. This is when you will be driving the forklift truck, loading the fleet of nine vehicles (mixture of vans and 7.5t).
Core Driving hours: 5am to 2.30pm. But 4am start when on FLT and warehouse duties. It is job and finish.
Salary based on 45 hour week:
- Salary £31,300 per annum
- Plus bonus and profit sharing
- 28 days paid holiday
- Pension scheme enrolment
- 5am start
- Job and finish Monday to Friday
Responsibilities of the Van Driver / FLT driver:
- Perform daily equipment and vehicle checks
- Learn to use the electronic delivery system (EPOD)
- Assist with loading the vehicles
- Complete multi drop deliveries (usually 20 or so per day)
- Use the FLT, pump truck and tail lifts safely
Requirements of the Van Driver / FLT driver:
- UK driving licence
- Max 6 minor penalty points
- Counter balance FLT licence
- Verifiable work references
