Driver Hire Grimsby & Scunthorpe is recruiting experienced Class 1 (CE) drivers for an upcoming contract with one of our long-established industrial customers. We have opportunities for both day drivers and trampers, with work expected to last for at least three months. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking for regular work with the flexibility to choose the type of work that best suits them.

This is specialist work involving the transport of steel products using extendable (trombone) trailers, so previous experience is essential.

What we’re looking for:

  • Class 1 (Category CE) Licence
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience operating extendable (trombone) trailers an advantage.
  • Experience transporting steel products
  • Confidence securing loads using chains, straps and tensioning equipment
  • Good understanding of load restraint and transport safety
  • A professional, reliable and safety-conscious attitude

The Role:

  • Transporting steel products to customer sites throughout the UK
  • Operating extendable (trombone) trailers safely and efficiently
  • Loading and securing steel products to industry standards
  • Completing vehicle checks and delivery paperwork
  • Providing excellent customer service on behalf of Driver Hire and our customer
