We're recruiting for HGV Class 2 Dust Cart Drivers to join a busy waste and recycling operation based near Winkleigh. This is an opportunity to be part of an essential service that helps keep our towns, villages and countryside clean while supporting recycling and environmental sustainability across Devon. Paying £14.00 per hour on PAYE accrued or £14.00 plus £1.68 holiday pay = £15.68 per hour PAYE advanced.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on established domestic and commercial waste collection routes.
- This is a team-based role. You'll work alongside a dedicated loading crew and will be expected to assist when required by helping manoeuvre bins into position ready for loading onto the rear of the vehicle.
Duties Include:
- Driving a Class 2 dust cart on pre-planned collection routes.
- Collecting domestic and commercial waste and recycling materials.
- Safely navigating residential roads where vehicles are often parked on both sides of the street.
- Conducting daily vehicle safety checks.
- Supporting the loading crew with bin movements when required.
- Working safely and efficiently to complete collections on schedule.
- Providing a professional service to residents and businesses.
