HGV Class 2 Shunter Driver - Edinburgh
£14.75 per hour | 4 on 4 off | 12-hour shifts

Driver Hire Edinburgh City are currently looking for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our client in Edinburgh on a 4 on 4 off rota.
This is a great opportunity for a driver looking for steady, ongoing work with short-distance driving and very little manual handling.
The Role
You will be responsible for shunting vehicles over a short distance between locations on site. This is a straightforward role with minimal physical work, as vehicles are loaded and unloaded for you.
Duties will include:
- Shunting HGV vehicles over a short distance
- Working 12-hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off rota
- Moving vehicles safely between locations
- Following site procedures and safety requirements
- Working as part of a team
- Completing basic vehicle checks where required
- No long-distance driving
- Very little manual handling
- Opportunity for ongoing work for the right driver
Pay & Hours
- £14.75 per hour
- 12-hour shifts
- 4 days on / 4 days off
- Immediate start available
Requirements
- Full HGV Class 2 (C) licence
- Minimum 6 months' HGV Class 2 driving experience
- Minimum 24 years old due to insurance requirements
- Maximum 6 penalty points, with no more than 3 points for any single offence
- No DD, DR, DG, CD or IN endorsements
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and road safety
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good communication skills
