Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a 3‑month contract with a well‑established food distribution company operating across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. Working Pattern

  • Ongoing work for a 3‑month contract period
  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
  • Typical start times of 7:00am or 11:00am
  • Full‑time hours with overtime opportunities during busy periods

Pay Rates

  • Monday to Friday: £14.50 per hour (PAYE), £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
  • Overtime – after 8 hours: £19.32 per hour (PAYE), £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
  • Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift
  • Weekly pay
  • Holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced selected

The Role

  • Driving a Class 2 vehicle delivering food products to customers
  • Completing multi‑drop deliveries across local routes
  • Working alongside a driver’s mate to assist with loading and unloading
  • Ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork accurately
  • Providing professional and friendly customer service

Requirements

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum 9 penalty points (no DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Reliable, professional, and safety‑focused attitude
