If so, this could be the ideal opportunity for you. Driver Hire Edinburgh is recruiting an ambitious and motivated Trainee Recruitment Consultant to join our growing team. You will receive full training, mentoring, and ongoing support to help you become confident in the day-to-day running of the business, while building and developing your own successful client base.

Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Handling incoming and outgoing telephone calls
  • Managing personal and shared office email inboxes
  • Advertising temporary and permanent vacancies via our microsite, job boards, and social media platforms
  • Screening CVs and interviewing candidates
  • Generating leads and winning new business
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
  • Arranging and attending face-to-face client meetings
  • Cross-selling a range of Driver Hire services
  • Maintaining and cleansing data within our in-house system
  • Contacting relevant businesses across the EH postcode area
  • Attending networking events and local job fairs
  • Completing daily and weekly administrative tasks
  • Participating in the 24/7 on-call rota (paid additionally)
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times

About You:

This is a combined recruitment and sales-focused role, so you will be responsible for managing your own workload. Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential, along with a confident, professional, and customer-focused approach. Previous experience in customer service, sales, recruitment, or logistics would be advantageous, but is not essential; full training will be provided. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Training & Development:

You will receive comprehensive training covering:

  • Driver Hire business operations
  • In-house IT systems
  • Transport and logistics legislation

Training will be delivered through a mix of on-the-job shadowing, structured learning modules, and our Sales Academy, giving you the tools to succeed and progress.

Hours & Pay:

Full-time, office-based role (EH12) Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (with flexibility possible). Starting salary: £22,500 basic per annum. On-call payment: approx £2,600 - 3,600 per annum. Uncapped bonus. Commission payable on training referrals. OTE £30,000 in year one, with progression thereafter, OTE £40,000 in year two.
