Driver Hire Edinburgh City is currently recruiting Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for a temp-to-perm opportunity with a well-established waste and recycling company operating across Edinburgh and surrounding areas. This is a great chance for drivers looking for long-term, stable employment with the security of a permanent role following a successful temporary period. Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are welcome to apply. Immediate starts available.
Working Pattern
- Temp-to-perm position with long-term opportunity
- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
- Early morning start times (typically 6:00am–7:00am)
- Full-time hours with overtime available during busy periods
Pay Rates
- Monday to Friday – £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
- Monday to Friday – £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
- Overtime – After 8 Hours – £19.32 per hour (PAYE)
- Overtime – After 8 Hours – £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift. Weekly pay. Holiday pay accrued unless PAYE Advanced selected.
Role
- Drive a Class 2 vehicle completing waste and recycling collections
- Work as part of a team with loaders
- Complete scheduled routes across Edinburgh and surrounding areas
- Ensure safe and efficient collection of waste materials
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and complete paperwork
- Follow strict health & safety procedures at all times
- Provide a reliable and professional service
Requirements
- Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Maximum 9 penalty points
- No DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements
- Physically fit and comfortable with an active, outdoor role
- Reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
