Driver Hire Edinburgh City is recruiting Class 2 (Category C) drivers to support a well‑established food delivery company on a 3‑month contract across Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

Competitive PAYE Rates. Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are welcome to apply. Immediate starts available.

Working Patterns

  • Ongoing work for a 3‑month period Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend shifts available
  • Typical start times: 7:00 am or 11:00 am
  • Full‑time hours with potential overtime during busy periods

Pay Rates

  • Monday to Friday: £14.50 per hour (PAYE)
  • £16.25 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
  • Overtime (after 8 hours): £19.32 per hour (PAYE)
  • £21.66 per hour (PAYE Advanced)
  • Minimum 8 hours’ pay guaranteed per shift.

The Role

  • Drive a Class 2 vehicle delivering food products to customers
  • Complete multi‑drop deliveries across local routes
  • Work with a driver’s mate to assist with loading and unloading
  • Ensure all goods are delivered safely and on time
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks
  • Complete delivery paperwork accurately
  • Provide a professional and friendly customer service

Requirements

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum 9 penalty points (no DD, DR, CD, or IN endorsements)
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Reliable, professional, and safety‑focused attitude
