Driver / Fitter to join our busy Tool & Plant Hire client in East London.

This is a varied, hands‑on role combining equipment deliveries with servicing and maintaining our hire fleet, helping to ensure our customers receive safe, reliable equipment every time.

The Role

As a Driver / Fitter, you'll split your time between making deliveries and collections, servicing and inspecting equipment, and supporting the day‑to‑day running of our branch.

You'll play a key role in keeping our hire fleet in excellent condition while delivering outstanding customer service.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Delivering and collecting tools and plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Inspecting, servicing and preparing hire equipment ready for customers.
  • Carrying out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical equipment.
  • Completing routine checks on hire equipment and company vehicles, ensuring everything is safe, compliant and accurately recorded.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
  • Providing a friendly, professional service to customers both on‑site and at the branch.
  • Assisting with stock checks and supporting colleagues across the branch whenever needed.

What We're Looking For

  • A full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Experience driving commercial vehicles (experience within the tool or plant hire industry is desirable).
  • PAT Testing qualification or experience (required for this role).
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to inspect and service equipment.
  • A proactive, reliable and safety‑conscious approach to work.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
