We have been asked to recruit on behalf of an established and growing installation company in South Devon that is looking for skilled and experienced window and door fitters to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working in pairs across a range of high-quality new-build residential developments, you will be responsible for delivering professional, precise installations to a consistently high standard. This is a role for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail, and is comfortable working as part of a close-knit team in a varied, hands-on environment.
Location
The location is in South Devon, encompassing Torbay, Newton Abbot, Paignton, Totnes, Kingsbridge, and the surrounding areas. All project sites are within a two-hour radius of the depot. There are no overnight stays required.
Salary
The salary ranges from £14.20 to £15.50 per hour based on experience. This is a full-time, permanent position with immediate starts available for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing windows and doors across new-build residential developments to a high and consistent standard
- Taking accurate measurements and ensuring correct fitting, sealing, and alignment throughout each installation
- Using handheld and power tools safely and in accordance with on-site health and safety requirements
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free at all times
- Collaborating effectively with your installation partner and liaising with other trades on site as needed
- Completing job records accurately and reporting any issues or defects promptly to the relevant contact
Qualifications
Essential
- Proven, hands-on experience installing casement windows, vertical sliders, bi-fold doors, sliding patio doors, French doors and sidelights, and composite front doors
- A background in window and door fitting, glazing, carpentry, or a closely related construction trade
- The ability to work reliably and productively as part of a two-person installation team (applications from existing pairs are very welcome)
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable
- An NVQ in Fenestration Installation or equivalent qualification
- A valid CSCS card
