Driver Hire and dh Recruitment (Torbay) are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (Cat C) drivers for regular work across South Devon. We offer consistent assignments, weekly pay, and guaranteed minimum hours. This opportunity is ideal for both experienced drivers and newly qualified drivers who are looking for reliable work with a supportive, locally based recruitment team.
Location: Newton Abbot
Salary: £16.81 - £21.01 per hour PAYE
- Paid weekly every Friday
- Minimum of 8 paid hours per shift
- Flexible shift patterns including days, nights, and weekends
- Ongoing work with reputable local companies across South Devon
Responsibilities:
- Driving Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C vehicles
- Local and regional deliveries throughout Devon and Cornwall
- General haulage, palletised freight, trade deliveries, and store deliveries
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Completing delivery paperwork, PODs, and digital tachograph records
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
- Adhering to drivers’ hours regulations and site procedures
Requirements:
- A valid Class 1 C+E or Class 2 Cat C licence
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital Tachograph card
- No more than 6 penalty points
- Ability to manage early starts and some manual handling
- Your own transport to access client depots
