Driver Hire and dh Recruitment (Torbay) are seeking a reliable and customer-focused HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join a well-established food distribution operation based in Newton Abbot, Devon. This role is Monday to Friday only with no weekend work. It is a genuine opportunity for newly qualified Class 2 drivers and you do not need prior delivery experience to apply. You will be responsible for multi-drop deliveries of chilled and frozen food products to hospitality businesses across the South West, completing up to 30 stops per day on a structured schedule.
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon. This is a field-based driving role covering delivery routes across the South West region. There is no remote or hybrid working element, as the position is entirely road-based.
Salary: £14.00 to £15.69 per hour PAYE, plus a performance-related bonus scheme. This is a full-time, permanent position with weekly pay and guaranteed minimum hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries of chilled and frozen food products to restaurants, cafes, and takeaways across the South West
- Complete up to 30 customer stops per day in an efficient and timely manner
- Deliver a high standard of customer service at every location, representing the client professionally at all times
- Adhere to all safe driving practices and road transport regulations throughout each shift
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, managing any issues that arise in a calm and professional manner
Qualifications:
- Essential:
- A valid HGV Category C (Class 2) driving licence
- A current Driver CPC qualification card
- A valid Digital Tachograph card
- A customer-focused approach with a reliable and professional attitude
- Desirable:
- Experience in a multi-drop delivery environment is desirable. However, full training is provided, and this is not a requirement, and newly qualified drivers are actively encouraged to apply.
