About the Role:
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Assistant with FLT Counterbalance to join a well-established Builders Merchant operating at their site in Congleton. This exciting role offers a fantastic opportunity to work within a fast-paced trade environment, assisting both trade and retail customers with their building material needs.
As a Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service both over the phone and face-to-face at the trade counter. You\βll be responsible for advising on products, processing orders, and ensuring that customers get the materials they need to complete their projects efficiently. As an FLT Counterbalance Driver, you will also be providing support during busy periods on the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to customers on the trade counter and over the phone.
- Advise customers on a range of construction materials and equipment, ensuring they receive the best solutions for their needs.
- Process orders and manage customer queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the team in stock management and product displays.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge and stay up-to-date with new items and stock levels.
- Operate a Forklift to move products around the site and locate items of customers.
Ideal Candidate:
- Sales experience is essential, preferably in a retail or trade environment.
- A solid understanding of construction materials and equipment would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
- Hold a valid FLT Counterbalance licence with over 12 months experience.
- Excellent communication skills β both face-to-face and on the phone.
- A positive attitude and a proactive approach to customer service.
