Driver Hire Chelmsford and Harlow are currently recruiting for an experienced Telehandler Driver / Labourer to join a busy and reputable construction project based in Saffron Walden. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long‑term, stable work with the security of ongoing projects already confirmed on an adjacent site once the initial phase is completed.
The Role
- You will be working as part of a professional on‑site team, responsible for supporting daily site operations and ensuring materials are delivered safely and efficiently across the project.
Location: Saffron Walden
Start Date: 25th May
Pay: £13.00 per hour excluding holiday pay
Pay: £14.56 per hour including holiday pay
Minimum: 8 hours guaranteed per day
Long‑term opportunity: up to 80+ weeks across two neighbouring sites
Main Duties
- Operating the telehandler safely and efficiently on site
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials
- Supplying trades with materials around the site
- Carrying out daily equipment and safety checks
- Assisting with light labouring duties when required
- Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
Requirements
- Valid Telehandler Card (CPCS preferred but not essential, NPORS accepted)
- Previous experience working on construction sites
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Good understanding of site health & safety
- Flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team
