About the Role

Driver Hire Chelmsford and Harlow are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Multidrop Driver on behalf of our client, a well-established distributor of fresh and frozen meats. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service across the hospitality sector. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity (12 weeks) with a clear pathway to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver fresh and frozen products to high-end hotels and restaurants
  • Complete 10-12 drops per day efficiently and on time
  • Ensure all deliveries are made in good condition and handled professionally
  • Safely operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring all items are secured correctly
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
  • Use the tachograph system correctly and comply with driving hours regulations
  • Maintain full compliance with DVSA and road transport legislation
  • Represent the company professionally at all times
  • Accurately complete delivery paperwork and report any issues
  • Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and presentable

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • 6 months preferred experience driving 18-tonne vehicles in a multi-drop environment
  • Experience using cages and tail lifts
  • Clean driving licence (maximum 3 points)
  • Good knowledge of driving hours, vehicle checks, and load security
  • Ability to load and unload the vehicle
  • Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused
