Driver Hire Chelmsford & Harlow are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients based in Brentwood for an experienced HGV Class 1 ADR Class 9 Tramper Driver on a temp to perm basis.
The Role
- Position: HGV Class 1 Driver (ADR Class 9 required)
- Working Patterns: Monday to Friday (10-hour shifts, 4 nights out) or Sunday PM to Friday (5 nights out)
- Vehicles: Modern Volvo & Scania sleeper cabs
- Work Type: Skip / RoRo operations
Temp to Perm Package (First 12 Weeks)
- Employed via: Driver Hire for initial 12 weeks
- Pay Rate: £18.50 per hour
- Minimum: 10 hours paid per day
- Night Out Allowance: £30 per night
Permanent Salary & Benefits (After 12 Weeks)
- Base Salary: £43,609.17 per annum
- Night Out Allowance: £55 per night (£28.80 taxable + £26.20 non-taxable)
- Typical annual value: £11,440 - £14,300
- Overtime Rates: £17.00/hour for first 10 overtime hours per week, £20.40/hour after 10 hours
- Saturday: Minimum 4.5 hours at £20.40/hour (£91.80 minimum)
- Sunday: Minimum 4.5 hours at £20.40/hour (£91.80 minimum) + £55 night out
- Additional Allowances: £15 daily food allowance (approx. £3,900 per year), £140 per job for out-of-hours call-outs
Earnings Potential
- Average earnings with 4-5 nights out: ~£61,000 per year
- With overtime and weekend work: £66,000 - £70,000+
