Looking for something a bit different this spring and summer? This isn't your standard trucking job. We're recruiting for a Class 1 (C+E) Driver to operate a specialist road survey vehicle, working across a variety of locations and helping collect essential survey data on the UK road network. We've supported this client for a number of years and, with survey season starting again in May, we're looking to add another reliable driver to the team. This is a temporary role, likely running through to October, as the survey equipment relies on dry road conditions for accurate data collection. Outside of survey season, we'll do our best to keep you busy with work for other clients if you'd like it.
What makes this role different?
- Drive a specialist survey truck - definitely not your average Class 1 role
- Travel to varied locations - no two days are the same
- Work alongside an experienced team who know the roads and the equipment inside out
- Hotel stays included while the vehicle remains on site, with drivers and operators swapping over at shift end
- Full training provided if needed, including the specialist equipment
- A chance to see the roads from a perspective very few drivers ever do
What we're looking for:
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Safe, reliable and patient drivers with a strong professional track record
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overnight stays
- A practical mindset, vehicle checks, basic reporting and attention to detail are all part of the job
Pay and Benefits:
- £17.00 per hour for the first 8 hours of each shift (excluding tacho break)
- £22.00 per hour overtime rate after 8 hours
- £25 overnight allowance
- PAYE only - no umbrella companies
- Holiday pay accrued
- Pension scheme available
- Uniform provided
- Friendly, supportive team, we treat our drivers like people, not numbers
- Genuine variety in your work and experience with a specialist vehicle that could open doors to future niche driving roles
