Driver Hire Bristol is recruiting for a professional and reliable Class 1 (Category C+E) Tanker Driver to support a busy tanker services operation based in Avonmouth, Bristol (BS11). This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV driver looking for a long‑term role with overtime opportunities and performance‑based bonuses.

Permanent Position | Overtime Available | Tanker Services

Shift Pattern

  • Monday to Friday – 42.5 hours per week
  • Start and finish times vary depending on business needs:
    • 06:00 – 15:00
    • 06:30 – 15:30
    • 07:00 – 16:00
    • 07:30 – 16:30
    • 08:00 – 17:00
    • 08:30 – 17:30

The Role

  • Operate vacuum tanker vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Remove waste from customer sites and deliver non‑potable water
  • Service portable toilets, welfare units, and effluent tanks where required
  • Carry out vehicle checks and basic maintenance duties
  • Complete all paperwork and digital records accurately using handheld systems
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and health & safety compliance
  • Work occasional weekends, nights out, and overtime in line with business requirements
  • Maintain vehicles, pumps, hoses, and equipment to a high standard

Pay & Benefits

  • £33,000 – £34,000 annual salary
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • Annual performance‑based bonus (not guaranteed)
  • 22 days holiday, increasing to 25 days after 3 years' service
  • Option to buy up to 5 additional holiday days
  • Annual salary review
  • Permanent, full‑time opportunity

What You’ll Need

  • Full UK Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tacho cards
  • At least 1 year of HGV driving experience
  • Previous vacuum tanker experience preferred
  • Clean licence preferred
