Job Description

We are a leading recruitment agency that specialises in transport and logistics, we supply our clients across the BN post code with drivers to cover busy periods and holiday.

We are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 7 car transporter driver to start on a temp to perm basis with one of our established clients in the Hassocks area. Full induction and training will be provided.

Benefits:

  • Load bonus 10% of ledger value of work carried out over threshold of £15,000 per month OTE £6000 pa

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Full UK License with Class 1 (Cat C+E) entitlement held for over 12 months, with no more than 6 points
  • Proof of Right to work in the UK (birth certificate or Passport)
  • Valid CPC & Digi Tacho card
  • previous experience of driving car transporters.
  • previous experience driving class 1 vehicles

Job Role:

  • The aim of a recovery driver is to safely recover vehicles and passengers following a roadside breakdown.
  • Roadside Vehicle breakdown encompasses breakdowns and accidents either at the customers home address or at any location within the UK.
  • The first priority of the operative is always the care and safety of any customers present with the vehicle. The operator represents Driver Hire and consistently high levels of customer care are called for, remembering that customer may be traumatised after breakdown.
  • The Company actively encourages further training of recovery drivers to enable them to carry out basic roadside assistance.
  • Vehicle Recovery can be to any UK destination.
  • Employees will be expected to work under tachograph legislation and have a sound knowledge of this.
  • Full details of the working practices are contained with the Company Drivers Manual.

Hours:

  • Daily checks are to be carried out prior to shift start in all cases.
  • Multi car transportation drivers work the following rota
  • Monday to Friday 06.00 to 21.00 duty time
  • Your working day will be governed by tachograph drive time so shift start and finish times may change but you will be expected to maximise drive time each day and route plan accordingly.
  • Shifts will regularly involve nights out and a night out allowance will be paid where applicable on a daily basis. This may include the Friday night, returning Saturday in this case overtime will be paid for the hours driven on the Saturday.
