Driver Hire Bournemouth and Salisbury are excited to be offering temporary opportunities for experienced HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 drivers with our client in Shaftesbury. As part of this role, you will complete deliveries in an HGV curtain-sider. Unloading will be completed with a pallet truck or by the customer at the delivery site. The typical amount of drops per round for day shifts is 6-7.

Position: HGV Class 1 and HGV Class 2 Driver

Days: Monday-Sunday (flexible)

Start time: 04:00 AM

Start date: ASAP

Location: Shaftesbury

Pay Rate: £16.25-17.37 (basic) - £18.21-19.61 (nights) - £20.17-20.73 (weekends) - £25 night-out allowance (for tramping work). Quoted rate is for PAYE advance holiday pay.

As a HGV Driver you MUST have:

  • a valid UK Class 1 or Class 2 HGV driving licence
  • a valid CPC and digital tachograph card
  • no more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD or IN codes)
  • a minimum of 3 months of recent commercial experience
  • your own transport to get to and from work

As a HGV Driver you will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating HGVs to transport goods to various locations
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, colleagues, and customers
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and vehicle maintenance
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety
