We\'re recruiting 3.5T (Cat B) van drivers for a local food wholesaler based near Newton Abbot. You\'ll be delivering fresh and ambient goods to pubs, cafes, takeaways, and restaurants across South Devon.
This role involves multiple deliveries, but it is quite different from parcel delivery work. You\'ll have fewer drops, regular customers, and full support from the transport office. It\'s a hands-on job with lifting involved - perfect if you prefer a steady route and a bit of physical work.
What the job involves:
Operating a 3.5T van for local food deliveries
Start time: 05:00 - finish when your drops are done
Manual handling - you\'ll be moving crates, boxes and trays
Keeping in touch with the transport team throughout your route
Looking after the vehicle and completing basic paperwork
What you\'ll need:
A full UK Cat B driving licence
No more than 6 points (no DR, DD or IN convictions)
Physically fit and OK with lifting/loading
A good attitude and reliable timekeeping
Your own way to get to work in Newton Abbot
What you\'ll get:
£26,666 per year
Weekly pay through Driver Hire (PAYE Advanced)
Monday to Friday work with occasional weekend cover
