We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced gateman to join our team on a large commercial project in Bishop Auckland. This is a crucial role, essential for maintaining site security and ensuring efficient, safe access throughout the duration of a major development.
About the Role:
As our Gateman, you will be the primary point of contact for all site traffic and visitors. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Controlling and monitoring all access to and from the site for personnel, vehicles, and deliveries.
- Directing vehicle and plant movements at the gate area, ensuring safe entry, exit, and effective traffic flow.
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate records of all visitors, deliveries, vehicle movements, and plant movements.
- Conducting visual checks as required for safety and security purposes.
- Strictly adhering to all site health and safety regulations, immediately reporting any concerns, incidents, or unauthorized access attempts.
- Greeting all visitors and delivery drivers in a professional and courteous manner, providing clear instructions.
- Managing site security around the gate area and contributing to overall site safety.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experienced in a Gateman, Security, or Traffic Marshall role, particularly on large-scale construction or commercial projects.
- Valid CSCS & vehicle marshal cards.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact clearly, firmly, and professionally with a diverse range of people.
- Is highly vigilant, observant, and attentive to detail, with an unwavering focus on security, safety, and site protocols.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly disciplined.
- Able to maintain composure and effectiveness in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
