Driver Hire Blackburn are recruiting experienced Class 1 (Cat C+E) HGV Drivers for ongoing work delivering building products and construction materials to builders' merchants.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 driver looking for regular work with a well-established national logistics operation.
The Role
As a Class 1 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of building products to builders' merchants and trade customers.
Typical duties will include:
- Driving a Class 1 HGV
- Delivering building products and construction materials
- Deliveries to builders' merchants and trade sites
- Securing and checking loads before leaving site
- Completing vehicle and delivery checks
- Following delivery instructions and site procedures
- Completing delivery paperwork and digital records
- Providing professional customer service at delivery points
- Working safely at all times and complying with relevant transport legislation
The role involves multi-drop deliveries, so previous experience of delivering to commercial and trade customers would be advantageous.
What We're Looking For
The ideal Class 1 driver will have:
- A valid Class 1 (Cat C+E) HGV licence
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 1 driving experience
- Experience delivering building products, construction materials or similar loads is desirable
- Good knowledge of UK roads
- A professional and reliable approach
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
